Meet The Staff

  • Rod Perry

    Rod Perry
    Head Golf Professional

    Rod was born in York, PA on October 17, 1973. At the age of 5, his family relocated to sunny Florida and settled in the coastal town of New Smyrna Beach. After playing a wide variety of sports as a teenager he settled on golf during his late high school years. Following high school Rod began pursuing his goal of becoming a Golf Professional by enrolling in one of the top Golf Management programs in the country at Mississippi State University. The 4 1/2 year program focused on all aspects of the golf business put Rod on the fast track to earning his PGA of America membership. He graduated from MSU with a degree in Marketing as well as Professional Golf Management.

    Rod's professional background includes a lifetime of commitment to the game of golf and service to its patrons. His previous positions in the golf business include assistant professional positions at LPGA International (Daytona Beach, FL), Marietta Country Club (Marietta, GA), Wyndyke Country Club (Germantown, TN), and Windsor Parke Golf Club (Jacksonville, FL). He has competed on professional tours across the country for 15 years including the PGA Tour, NGA Hooters Tour, Golden Bear Tour, and the Florida Professional Golf Tour. Most recently he served as the Director of Instruction at nearby Daytona Beach Golf Club as well as serving as an adjunct instructor for the Golf Academy of America. Rod was officially named the Head Golf Professional here at Crane Lakes Golf and Country Club on April 1, 2012.

    He along with his wife (Jaclyn), daughter (Vanessa), and son (Carson) now call Port Orange, FL their home. He enjoys spending time with his family doing a variety of things including boating, going to the beach, all sporting activities, and whatever else might be of interest to his kids.

  • Jessica Schnebly

    Jessica Schnebly
    Assistant Golf Professional

    Jessica was born in Daytona Beach, Florida and raised in nearby Ormond Beach. She played a variety of sports growing up, but took up golf at the age of 14. She competed for Seabreeze High School before moving on to compete at the collegiate level. In 2005, Jessica earned a scholarship to Daytona State College. After two successful years and two births to the National Junior College Athletic Association’s National Championship, Jessica moved up the ladder to compete for a NCAA Division 1 school. She received a full scholarship to the University of South Florida, where she completed both her athletic as well as academic careers. In May of 2009, she graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelors of Sciences in Business Administration & Marketing.

    Jessica loves to be active and spends most of her time outdoors. Whether it’s on the golf course, on the boat fishing, or at the beach – she loves to be outside when the sun is shining. Jessica also loves kids, which is why she spends what is left of her time tutoring elementary, middle, and high school students in various levels of math. Jessica’s most recent endeavor is turning professional by joining the LPGA Teaching and Club Professionals. Currently she is a Class B member with ambitions to reach class A status. She aspires to teach all ages, but would like to be involved in helping bring more junior programs to the area and entice more kids to get involved in the game of golf. Jessica believes picking up a club at the age of 14 completely changed her life and would like to see more take advantage of the opportunities and friendships that the game of golf provides.

  • Brian Tennyson

    Brian Tennyson
    Assistant Golf Professional

    Brian was born in Glens Falls, NY. He attended college at Sunny Adirondack where he earned his degree in Business Administration. He has served as an assistant golf professional at Glenns Falls C.C.,Hiland G.C. and The Golf Club @ Equinox. He has also held the Head Professional title at Green Mansions G.C. and earned his PGA of America membership in 1996. For 8 years Brian served as a Teaching Professional at Stratton Golf School as well as Stetson V. Elder Hostel. Brian has also played professional golf on a number of tours around the U.S.

    Brian currently resides in Ormond Beach and officially joined the Crane Lakes Team in May of 2012.

  • Ben Herring

    Ben Herring

    Ben was born in Monterey California April 6, 1989. With both his parents serving in the US Navy, Ben traveled from California to Colorado, Guam, Rhode Island, Virginia, Texas, and finally landed in Pensacola, FL where he went to high school and college. It was baseball that Ben excelled at throughout his grade school life, but after multiple arm injuries, he turned his focus on a different sport.

    In 2010 Ben left Pensacola to attend Professional Golfers Career College in Orlando, FL. The focus of this college was to create the next leaders in the golf industry exposing students to every possible career path within the world of golf. Very quickly Ben identified Tournament Operations and Instruction as the path he wanted to pursue. While attending college Ben interned with the LPGA Tour, The LPGA Symetra Tour, The Arnold Palmer Invitational, and the North Florida PGA. After Graduating with honors Ben took over as the North Florida PGA Tournament Director in 2011.

    As the North Florida PGA Tournament Director Ben was responsible for many PGA Club Professional Championships, Collegiate Conference Championships, PGA Tour Q-School, Junior Golf Championships, and many more events every single year. Ben has also scored higher than 92 on the USGA Rules of Golf Exam making him a Certified Rules Official. In 2018 Ben was hired by a private company to run an LPGA Symetra Tour Event in Sarasota Florida. This event was the highest purse in the history of the Tour and according to players and LPGA Symetra Tour staff, it had a "Major Feel" to it. Shortly thereafter Ben accepted the role as Director of Golf at Venetian Bay Golf Club in New Smyrna Beach.

    Ben now lives in Ormond Beach with his wife Angelina and two kids Jaxson and Magnolia. Ben spends his time playing T-Ball with Jaxson, dancing with Magnolia, and cooking dinner for his whole family.

  • Deb Domagal

    Deb Domagal

    Originally from New Hartford, NY Deb and her husband Ed relocated to Crane Lakes in 2013. In her professional career Deb served for 35 years as an Administrative Assistant to the Vice President of St. Lukes Hospital in Utica, NY. Since her migration South she has become an avid golfer and enjoys the Florida lifestyle to its fullest.

  • Tessa Zamboni
    LPGA Class A Professional

    Teresa joined Crane Lakes Golf & Country Club in 2008 and gives private lessons and group clinics throughout the year. She teaches golfers of all skill levels on the belief that each person has their own unlimited and unique potential. As a golf coach Teresa creates a path to help people reach their own peak performance in golf, in personal fitness and in life.

    Teresa Zamboni has been a highly respected and recognized member of the LPGA for more than 17 years. Teresa joined the LPGA Teaching & Club Professionals in 1994 and in 2007 she achieved the LPGA’s highest honor by being selected LPGA National Teacher of the Year recognizing her as the best teacher in the nation. Most recently, Teresa was named to the Golf Digest 50 Best Women Teachers in America list in 2012 and 2010.

    Teresa is a certified Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) golf fitness instructor. A passionate tournament player, Teresa has participated in more than 50 LPGA T & CP sanctioned tournaments throughout the United States. She also participated on the Futures Tour from 1998 to 2001.

    Golfers everywhere have known Teresa as the Golf Academy Director for one of the nation’s most prestigious golf courses, LPGA International Golf Course in Daytona Beach, Florida. There she was recognized for her innovations in developing exceptional golf instructional programs and curriculum, learn and play clinics, and for the integration of fitness training into golf education.

    In 2007, Teresa joined Ladies’ Links Fore Golf, LLC. As a partner she is responsible for tournament events, corporate events, online instruction tips and many other aspects of the operation. Our mission is to enhance women’s involvement in the game of golf. LL4G.com is the Official online amateur golf community of the LPGA and publishes the only national golf magazine for women.

    Teresa is a site instructor for the LPGA/USGA Girls Golf Club in Port Orange and a Board Member for the Ovarian Cancer Alliance of Florida.

    Born in Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan and a graduate of Michigan State University with a Bachelors degree in Telecommunications, Teresa currently resides in Port Orange, Florida.

  • Vicky Moore

    Vicky Moore
    Assistant General Manager

    Ms. Moore was born in Orlando, Florida and lived there until 2003. She graduated from high school in Orlando and then worked for Bellsouth until she retired with 34 year’s service. She then started working for Juvenile Diabetes Research Fountain (JRDF) until moving to this area in 2003. She started working at La Costa Village in 2006 when it was owned by the Becks family. She then came to Crane Lakes Golf and Country Club in 2009 as the Assistant General Manger.

    She enjoys spending time with her friends and family, traveling, cooking out, movies and just being outside when the weather is nice.

  • John McCloskey

    John McCloskey
    Community Manager

    John McCloskey, 52, is the community manager at Crane Lakes Golf & Country Club.

    Born in Rockville Centre, New York, to parents Martin & Evelyn, John is the second-youngest of six children. John enjoyed playing many sports growing up, and was named All-County in basketball and golf for Valley Stream High School.

    At the age of 14, John started working at Hempstead GCC as a caddie until he became the assistant greens superintendent until 1980. He then spent the next 22 years in the printing and graphic arts industry. John moved from New York to Port Orange, Florida in 2002, where he owned and operated McCloskey Lawn Service before coming to work for Crane Lakes in 2005.

    John is married to his wife of 21 years, Connie, and together they have two children, Lashell, 20, and Kyle, 16. Outside of work, John enjoys watching and playing sports, including basketball, tennis, and especially golf. John is also an enthusiastic volunteer for both The Special Olympics Of Florida as well as S.P.A.R.C. of Volusia County, where he coaches special needs children and adults in many sports and activities.

  • Ruth Swift

    Ruth Swift
    Golf Staff

    Ruth was born in Aplena, Michigan and spent time in Flint and Grand Blanc. After graduating from Holy Redeemer High School, she decided to pursue a career in Banking. She worked for Genesse Bank, a hometown bank, which after several mergers in now J.P. Morgan Chase. Ruth attended Mott Community College in Flint and the University of Virginia, where she earned a Degree in Bank Management. She held the positions of Secretary in Consumer Loans, Secretary to the Bank President, Branch Manager, and New Business Representative in Consumer Lending. Retiring after 38 years in Banking, Ruth and her husband Randy moved to Florida. They have three children Jason, Denise, and Lisa as well as six grandchildren Sianna, Gavin, Madison, Kadin, Alayna, and Emma. Ruth has called Crane Lakes home since 2002. She has been part of the Golf Shop Operation since 2003. She enjoys interacting with people as well as her friends in the community where she lives.

  • Janet Gripentrog
    Golf Staff

    The metropolis of Chaffee, Missouri was home for Janet thru her high school years. After high school she moved to Flint, Michigan where she was employed as a Branch Manager and an officer of Genese Bank & Trust which is now Chase Bank. In 1994 she graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Business from the University of Michigan. In 2000, she and her husband Kurt (a.k.a. GRIP), moved to the Crane Lakes community where they have enjoyed the many activities available. She enjoys shopping, cruising, and spending time with family and friends. Did we mention she likes shopping?

  • Kurt Gripentrog a.k.a. "Grip"
    Golf Staff

    Kurt was born and raised in Flint, Michigan. He graduated from the University of Michigan School of Finance and Banking and was employed by Genesse Bank & Trust. While there, he served as Vice President and Manager of the Human Resources Department. He retired from the bank in 1997 as Vice President in charge of Private Banking. He and his wife Janet, have four children Scott, Matt, Eric, and Nicole. Kurt and Janet moved to Crane Lakes in 2000. Kurt enjoys playing golf, tennis, and an occasional cruise with their ten grandchildren. He has been a valuable member of the Crane Lakes staff for the past 8 years.

  • Jim Hawley

    Jim Hawley
    Golf Staff

    Jim was born in Niagara Falls, NY and raised on Grand Island, N.Y. Grand Island is surrounded by the Niagara River. This is where he spent the majority of his younger years swimming and boating. He graduated from nearby Tonawanda High School. Grand Island had no high school at the time.

    Jim’s main hobby growing up was racing hydroplanes as a member of APBA, along with his younger brother and with the financial help and moral support of his mom and dad. He and his family traveled over much of the eastern U.S. as it was a great family sport.
    He spent six years with the 107th tactical fighter squadron, NYANG out of Niagara, Falls, NY. He also worked for the Otis elevator company for 30 years, and furthered his education in hydraulics, electricity, and solid-state electronics through IUEC and Otis education programs. Jim retired as the local representative for Otis in the Southern tier of western NY.

    Jim has married to his wife Sue (Reynolds) Hawley for 48 years. They have two daughters, two grandchildren, and a great granddaughter. They moved to Crane Lakes in December of 1999 and started working for CLGCC in March of 2000. He says “it’s great to meet and greet golfers from the surrounding communities as well as the members and residents of Crane Lakes.

  • Jerry Reymond

    Jerry Reymond

    Jerry began playing golf in 1971. For the next 9 years he played Junior, High School and College golf locally. Jerry graduated in 1983 from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. In 1986 Jerry fulfilled a dream and was elected to membership in the PGA. His professional experience includes stints at Indigo Lakes CC, Pelican Bay North and South courses and also 13 years as the Head Golf Professional at Plantation Bay Golf and Country Club in Ormond Beach. He presently is the Manager and PGA Teaching Professional at Summit Golf Range. Every spring he also is an instructor with the Stetson University "Roads Scholars" golf instructional program which presently is located at Pelican Bay CC. Jerry has devoted his life to the game of golf, teaching golf and the golf industry. He really enjoys his part-time shifts at Crane Lakes spending time with members and staff who love the game of golf as much as he does. Jerry credits much of his success in life to his wife Lynn.

  • James McDonald

    James "Chili" McDonald
    Golf Staff

    Chili was born in Washington D.C. He and his wife Pat have 4 children – 2 boys and 2 girls and have been happily married for 51 years. He is a retired D.C. Policeman that moved to Florida full time in 1989. He and his wife enjoy traveling in their R.V. and spend a good portion of each summer on the road. Chili will play golf anywhere and at anytime. He is also an avid Elvis fan and a United States Air Force veteran.

  • Sam Mosley

    Sam Mosley
    Assistant Superintendent

    Sam was born in Orlando and raised in Altamonte Springs. He graduated from Lyman High School in Longwood and Valencia College in Orlando with two degrees in Environmental Horticulture. He has only traveled outside the state four times and has never seen snow. A Florida native for sure.

    Sam got his start in the golf industry in 2002 at The Legacy Club in Longwood. He started at the bottom and worked up to his first Assistant Superintendent position in the four years he was there. From there he went to Providence Golf Club in Davenport where he gained his first experience with the construction, grow-in, and grand opening of a golf club. With his first grow-in under his belt, he moved on to the Waldorf Astoria Golf Club in Orlando. Here he was part of another construction, grow-in, and grand opening. While there he sharpened his eye for detail and attention to customer service.

    After spending his life in Orlando traffic Sam was ready for a change and decided to live where he went to unwind. The beach. That lead to a short stint at Deltona Club in Deltona before landing here at Crane Lakes where he has been since April of 2011. Now every day feels like a vacation.

    Aside from the beach, Sam enjoys fishing, cooking, tennis, golf, hiking, gardening, farmers markets, and local history.
